It’s spring and the days are getting longer so our chickens are beginning to lay more eggs again. We are getting about 13-15 eggs a day. We have 24 hens, so in full swing we should get closer to 17-18 eggs a day. Doesn’t seem like a lot, but that’s about 10 dozen a week on average!
By the way, I have some eggs available if you would like some. About 4 dozen at the moment.
The turkeys are also laying eggs! We currently have some in the incubator which should begin hatching in about 2 weeks. The extras? They taste like… well, eggs. A little larger than chicken eggs, think jumbo chicken eggs. Due to their protein content I understand they don’t scramble well. We like ours fried.
