Why don’t you sell off your farm?

Breadcrumb Navigation

It’s not a simple decision. There are several reasons I prefer to not sell off the farm.

First of all, it’s not only the farm, it’s also my home. Sorry, but I’m not real eager to have strangers coming to my home. As simple as my home is, it’s our castle.

We are a very small farm, under 4 acres, and we don’t have the big red barns and huge pastures to loose yourself in.

I do not have a retail space here.

Keeping up with my farm and daily life is a handful. By selling at the market, it allows me to focus my attention on you, not what my barking dogs are doing or where the turkeys are wandering off to now, or who the geese are hissing at, or even the occasional goat escapee that has to be put back in its field before it eats something that may make it sick.

I have worked hard to create place for you to shop at the Holly Springs Farmers Market and I’m there (aka OPEN) every week. There you have the opportunity to pick and choose which piece of meat you would like to have. You can look over the possibilities and think about how you would like to cook your chicken dinner. Heck, at the market you can also shop other vendors to get the vegetables, seasonings, even baked goods to go with your meal!

Maybe I should have an open farm day… maybe someday when my family is around to help out… but for now, I’ll stick to selling at HSFM for now.
